This is a brilliant example of NOT knowing….
so a bunch of peeps i know blew off the MiT5 conference today to drive to “the atlantic” and have “clam chowder”. They missed much and too bad that they are SO committed to NOT knowing that they didn’t attend the PLEN.
So dr. d and i are sitting in on day 2 of MiT 5 conference, in general, things have been interesting, but there have also been slippages: a) woman who said Second Life was an MMO; b) strange comment on Walter Ong somehow being “controversial” in the 80’s (who?); c) more people writing on their own personal computers than paying attention to the talks; d) young(ish) white man who claimed his thesis was on identity, but he completely avoided race/ethnicity and gender; e) pouty Canadian who didn’t like his session being hijacked by First Nations ways of knowing/respect and… more soon
Knowing isn’t everything…
